In an emergency, call 911
This website, the contact form and our programs are not emergency care. If you have severe or rapidly worsening symptoms, such as trouble breathing, chest pain, severe stomach pain, fainting, or signs of a serious allergic reaction, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room right away.
The content here is educational
The information on this website, including descriptions of semaglutide, tirzepatide and how GLP-1 medications work, program details, eligibility guidelines, side effects and answers to common questions, is provided for general educational purposes only. It is written for a general audience and does not account for your personal health, history or medications.
It isn't a substitute for professional medical advice
Nothing on this website is medical advice, a diagnosis or a treatment recommendation, and it is not a substitute for an evaluation by a qualified health care professional. Always talk with your own physician or another qualified clinician about any questions you have about a medical condition, a medication or a weight-loss plan.
Reading this website, or sending us a message through the contact form, does not create a doctor-patient or clinician-patient relationship. That relationship begins only if a licensed clinician reviews your information in our secure patient portal and agrees to provide care.
Prescriptions require a clinician's evaluation
Prescription medications are available only after a licensed clinician evaluates your health information and decides that treatment is medically appropriate for you. The clinician may ask follow-up questions, request lab work or a video visit, or recommend a different approach. Medication is included in a program only if it is prescribed, and prescriptions are filled by a licensed pharmacy.
Eligibility is not guaranteed
Completing the assessment does not guarantee that you will qualify for treatment or receive a prescription. A clinician may decide that a program isn't right for you, and may stop, pause or change treatment at any time for medical reasons. You're charged only after a clinician approves you.
Individual results vary
People respond to weight-loss medications, nutrition changes and exercise differently. Results depend on many factors, including your health, your dose, how consistently you follow your plan, and other conditions or medications. We don't promise or guarantee any particular amount of weight loss or any other result.
About compounded medications
HZN prescribes only compounded medications, which are prepared by a licensed pharmacy specifically for you. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. This means the U.S. Food and Drug Administration does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality before they are dispensed. A compounded medication is not the same as, or a generic version of, any FDA-approved brand-name product. Your clinician will explain what you are being prescribed, where it comes from, and the risks and benefits before you start.
All medications carry risks
GLP-1 medications can cause side effects, some of them serious, and they are not right for everyone. Your clinician will review your health history, discuss the possible risks, benefits and alternatives with you, and check in with you regularly during treatment. For general information, see our Safety page. Tell your clinician right away about any new or worsening symptoms, and contact your care team through the patient portal with questions about your treatment.
Don't disregard or delay professional advice
Never ignore advice from your own physician, delay getting medical care, or start, stop or change a medication because of something you read on this website. If you are already under a doctor's care, talk with them before starting any weight-loss program.
